A First Pool in a New State
This family moved to Texas and built their first pool in Woodson’s Reserve. A neighbour
recommended us, and we’ve looked after the pool for close to a year now. Because it was their
first pool, the job was never just cleaning — from the beginning it included helping them
understand, program and properly operate the entire system.
The System We Look After
It’s a saltwater pool built around Pentair equipment and automation, with an AquaCal pool
chiller and a robotic pool cleaner. Individually those are all good pieces of equipment. The value is
in making them work together on coordinated schedules — that’s where most new pool owners
get lost, and it’s where a lot of our work on this pool has gone.
What We’ve Done on This Pool
- Programmed and optimised the Pentair automation system
- Adjusted pump programming, schedules and flow rates
- Set up and adjusted the saltwater system and proper salt levels
- Monitored and balanced the water chemistry for the saltwater pool
- Programmed the robotic cleaner and coordinated it with the pool equipment
- Set up and adjusted the AquaCal chiller for the Texas heat
- Performed the necessary filter cleanings
- Monitored the filtration system and overall equipment operation
- Ongoing weekly cleaning, brushing and water care
- Detailed service reports: chemistry, chemicals added, work done, photos

We Started at Builder Startup
When the pool was originally completed we worked directly with the homeowners’ pool builder
during startup, helping get the programming and flow rates properly dialled in. Startup is the moment a
pool either gets set up correctly or spends years fighting itself, so it’s worth being there
for.
More Than a Weekly Clean
Over almost a year we’ve helped manage and optimise the entire pool system while educating the
homeowners along the way — what the equipment does, why a setting matters, what to watch for.
They also tell us before parties or when they’re expecting a heavy swimmer load, and we make the
chemistry adjustments ahead of time so the pool is clean, balanced and ready for their family and
guests.

The Result
They now have a beautiful saltwater pool with the Pentair equipment, automation, AquaCal chiller and
robotic cleaner all working together on properly coordinated schedules. The homeowners don’t have
to figure any of it out themselves, and the pool stays clean, balanced and ready to enjoy.
“As a mechanical engineer, Steven brought an additional level of expertise
that was incredibly valuable. Since this is our first pool, having someone who could explain the
equipment, optimize the settings, and answer our questions gave us tremendous peace of mind.”
